Annual Report: 2021-22 at REFBC

We would like to share our heartfelt appreciation for the people, organizations, and partners who breathe life into our vision of a healthy environment and thriving, resilient, liveable communities across BC.

In our annual report this year, we are pleased to share stories of activities, learning, and impact that the Foundation has been advancing. The year presented a myriad of new opportunities to work, learn, and grow with people and organizations across BC.

2021-22 Highlights

In 2021-22, we:

  • Completed our Strategic Plan for 2022-2025, which aligns four strategic directions with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Granted more than $3 million for 59 projects that advance sustainable, equitable, and socially just land use and real estate practices.
  • Led the Healthy Watersheds Initiative, a partnership with the Province of BC and Watersheds BC, which has invested $27 million in over 60 organizations to carry out more than 200 restoration projects and create almost 1,000 jobs across BC.
  • Co-authored the Canadian Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change, joining more than 40 foundations and funders in committing to act on the climate emergency.
  • Opened and received nominations for the 2022 Land Awards.
