Happy Trails, Hedy!

After 18 years of sharing her talents at REFBC, our beloved Grants Program Manager Hedy Rubin’s last day with the Foundation will be August 29, 2025.

Hedy’s impact on our work with people and community partners across BC has been enormous. Her warmth, thoughtfulness, and genuine care have defined her approach to listening, learning, and supporting communities. She will be deeply missed by all of us at the Foundation, as well as by the hundreds of community partners Hedy has worked alongside over the years.

In her work, Hedy has woven together her love for the outdoors, food sovereignty and land use with her steadfast commitments to equity, justice, and relationship-building. She has been instrumental in opening doors to the REFBC’s commitments to UNDRIP and our investments in First Nations-led solutions, helping to shape a more inclusive and collaborative approach.

All along, she’s brought us on her adventures on and off the trails, from work to family, travel, community, and the learning she’s found along the way.
