Allan Brooks Nature Centre Society to complete a biodiversity conservation strategy for the entire Okanagan basin, and deliver a land managers’ guide and green bylaws toolkit. $28,190
BC Law Institute for phase two of the Strata Property Act Law reform project, which will explore the legislation and make recommendations to the Province. $70,000
Carbon Talks – SFU Centre for Dialogue for Moving in a Livable Region: education and outreach to advance a viable framework for transportation funding, governance and planning in metro Vancouver. $50,000
Fraser Basin Council for Smart Planning in Action, a project that will help 140 BC communities develop and implement sustainability plans. $180,000
Fraser Basin Council to pilot the use of Salmon-Safe development principles and practices in urban areas through an eco-certification process. $35,000
Fresh Roots Urban Farm Society to establish and operate two farms on institutional land in Vancouver and educate and engage neighbours; develop a case study on the project. $70,000
Friends of Summerland Research Stations Gardens Society to help the community learn how to adapt gardening and landscaping practices to face water challenges in the Okanagan region. $25,000
Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association to create a guide to show the impact of municipal fees and processing times for residential development applications on housing costs. $15,000
Greater Vancouver Regional District to assist with 2014 Homeless Count which will inform the Regional Homelessness Plan, helping identify priorities for programs and services. $22,750
Green Bricks Education Society to expand the H24 workshop on water and the built environment to grade four students in more BC communities. $50,000
Land Trust Alliance of BC for a toolkit of templates and sample documents related to legal, financial, and policy tools available for conservation in BC. $60,000
Lookout Emergency Aid Society to develop and implement a framework of preferred practices for housing seniors who have faced homelessness. $50,000
PHS Community Services Society for urban farm projects and training in downtown Vancouver; exploring integration of sustainable food systems in low-income neighbourhoods. $25,000
Sierra Club of BC Foundation to deliver workshops and other programming to secondary students focused on restoration, environmental leadership and land stewardship. $15,000
Simon Fraser University for a tool to help predict water use in the Okanagan and assist decisions on drought management, urban development and climate adaptation. $18,700
