New Grants Support Freshwater Stewardship and Real Estate Education

At their March 2022 meeting, the Real Estate Foundation of BC’s Board of Governors approved 15 grants totalling $722,410.

This funding supports applied research, public education, and policy and law reform to advance sustainable, equitable, and socially just land use and real estate with a view to upholding Indigenous rights and title and racial equity and justice.

Including these latest grants, REFBC has awarded more than $90 million to non-profit organizations working to strengthen BC communities and protect our shared land and water.

The Spring 2022 grants are listed alphabetically by recipient organization below.

The Association of Interior Realtors will develop a Practice-Ready Realtor course for newly licensed real estate agents. ($18,000).

The BC Northern Real Estate Board will put on a series of webinars about land and water sustainability issues for realtors and the public. ($16,900).

The BC Northern Real Estate Board will subsidize travel costs to help instructors provide in-person professional development courses to realtors in small and remote communities. ($5,900).

The BC Marine Trails Network Association will work with First Nations in the Discovery Islands, west coast of Vancouver Island, and Haida Gwaii to ensure First Nations’ interests are respected by recreational users in their territories. ($40,000).

The BC Real Estate Association will develop a professional development course for managing brokers navigating BC’s changing regulatory environment. ($158,750).
