The Real Estate Foundation this week signed a statement to the provincial government expressing support for the BC Water Sustainability Act and development of its regulations.
This was facilitated by our involvement as a member of the BC Water Funders Group, which aims to help find areas of common interest and alignment that facilitate the strategic use of collective resources to advance freshwater protection in British Columbia. The group provides a forum for exchange of information and peer learning between funders and water leaders by strengthening relationships, knowledge and networks.
The Real Estate Foundation is a grantmaker that helps advance sustainable land use in BC. Freshwater Sustainability is one of our three priority granting areas. Our particular interest in this area is land use initiatives that contribute to novel approaches that support a clean and adequate supply of fresh water. This includes land use planning and policy, watershed governance, mapping studies and applied research.
