Thank You, Sherry!

We share the news that Sherry Yano is leaving the Real Estate Foundation of BC (REFBC) as of February 27, 2025, after four years as Director, Grants and Community Engagement. While we are sad to see Sherry go, we are deeply grateful for her many contributions, and we wish her the very best in her next chapter.

Since joining REFBC in 2021, Sherry has played a pivotal role in advancing our mission to support sustainable and equitable land use and real estate practices in BC. Her dedication, insight, and collaborative spirit have helped transform our grantmaking, relationships, and ways of working and caring for people inside and outside of REFBC. She’s supported the growth and development of a team of brilliant staff, and left a lasting impact on us, our partners, and the communities we serve.

We want to thank Sherry for her commitment, leadership, and the meaningful work she has helped shape at REFBC. While she will be greatly missed, we know that she will continue to make a positive difference wherever her journey takes her next.

We are pleased that Jen McCaffrey, Senior Grants Manager at REFBC, will step into the role of Acting Director, Grants and Community Engagement, until a forthcoming search process for the tnext Director has been completed.
