Thank You, Stacey!
We congratulate and thank Stacey Tyers for her term on the Real Estate Foundation of BC’s Board of Governors.
Stacey was appointed by the BC Minister of Finance in 2019. She was elected Vice-chair of the Board for 2021-22 served as Chair from 2022 to 2024.
Based in Terrace, BC, Stacey brought a track record of strong public service, leadership and advocacy for remote and rural communities, social issues, and quality of life in Northern BC, as well as for people throughout BC.
At REFBC, she was, and continues to be, a passionate and committed champion for the organization. Her keen sense of social and environmental justice, respect for rights of First Nations and Indigenous Peoples in BC, and belief in power of community has helped shaped our relationships, priorities, and ways of working.
We are grateful for Stacey’s outspokenness and her enduring support for the team. In addition to being a fabulous human, we are holding deep appreciation for her leadership in upholding our collective vision and values. We will miss her!
Stacey shared a few parting words with REFBC’s community:

“I am so appreciative of my time spent with fantastic board members and incredible staff. Over the past seven years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and connecting with new friends and learning about amazing work and projects happening in the province.
“While it is difficult to say goodbye, I am so thrilled and excited to see more Indigenous women take their place at decision-making tables to continue to be stewards of land, water, and environment from every angle.”

REFBC is overseen by a seven-member Board of Governors. The Governors are appointed by the Province of BC (3), Union of BC Municipalities (1), BC Real Estate Association (1), Real Estate Institute of BC (1), and BC Non-Profit Housing Association (1).
