Welcome Aboard, Ahmed!
The Real Estate Foundation of BC is pleased to announce that Ahmed Omran has joined the Board of Governors. The BC Non-Profit Housing Association appointed Ahmed to the position.
“Ahmed brings a wealth of experience from the affordable housing sector and a keen interest in sustainable forestry and land use to the Board of Governors,” said Mark Gifford, CEO of REFBC. “We’re excited to welcome Ahmed to REFBC as we work to support sustainable, equitable, and socially just relationships between lands, waters, and people.”
Ahmed has been involved in the affordable housing sector in BC for over 10 years. He has worked with BC Housing and the Aboriginal Housing Management Association on the government side, and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. on the non-profit side.
Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Business Administration from Vancouver Island University, and a Master of Science in International Business from the University of Hertfordshire. In addition, he holds a Professional Project Management (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute.
“I am very honoured and excited to join the Real Estate Foundation of BC’s Board of Governors and lend my support to community and land stewardship across BC,” Ahmed said. “I look forward to working with Governors and staff to harness our collective vision, expertise, and passion to build stronger communities and sustainable futures.”
Meanwhile, REFBC would like to recognize the contributions of Tina Lange, who served with enthusiasm on our Board of Governors from 2019 to 2023. We thank Tina and look forward to staying connected.
REFBC is overseen by a seven-member Board of Governors. The Governors are appointed by the Province of BC (3), Union of BC Municipalities (1), BC Real Estate Association (1), Real Estate Institute of BC (1), and BC Non-Profit Housing Association (1).
