Welcome, Eve!
We are delighted to welcome Eve Hurd to our team.
Eve joins REFBC and the Watershed Security Fund as a Program Coordinator. She brings a diverse professional and academic background in water stewardship and community- and Indigenous-led conservation.
Eve’s recent professional experience reflects her passion and commitment for community outreach and environmental advocacy. At Sea Smart, Eve developed land-based, culturally responsive educational programming, and designed marine education initiatives in collaboration with communities and First Nations in the Lower Mainland.
Eve’s background in community-based conservation is also informed by impactful research experiences, including studying human-wildlife conflict in Southwestern BC, and supporting sustainable waste management initiatives through monitoring, evaluation, and learning research.
“I’m inspired by tangible solutions that address community and environmental needs. I’m thrilled to be able to contribute my passion and expertise towards the meaningful work of safeguarding watershed resilience.”
