Welcome, Leslie!

The Real Estate Foundation of BC is pleased to announce that Leslie Dickie has joined the Board of Governors. The Union of BC Municipalities appointed Leslie to the position.

“Leslie brings valuable leadership experience in First Nations, local governments, business, and non-profits to the Board of Governors,” said Mark Gifford, CEO of REFBC. “We’re excited to welcome Leslie to REFBC as we work to advance sustainable, equitable, and socially just land use and real estate practices across BC.”

Leslie is a Councillor with the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality. A member of the Kwakiutl First Nation in Port Hardy, Leslie resided in Fort Nelson from 1980 to 2016. After a few years in her home territory, she recently moved back to Fort Nelson and is the Director of Corporate Services for the Fort Nelson First Nation.

Leslie has years of experience in business, management, administration, and finance. She was the elected Chief of the Kwakiutl First Nation, sat on the Board of Governors for North Island College, and is on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. Her five sons and 19 grandchildren provide her with inspiration to work towards a bright future for future generations.

“I am honoured to be a member of the REFBC Board of Governors,” Leslie said. “I look forward to working with a great team that’s committed to advancing justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.”

REFBC is overseen by a seven-member Board of Governors. The Governors are appointed by the Province of BC (3), Union of BC Municipalities (1), BC Real Estate Association (1), Real Estate Institute of BC (1), and BC Non-Profit Housing Association (1).
