Welcome, Anthony!

Welcome, Anthony!

The Real Estate Foundation of BC is pleased to announce that Anthony Bastiaanssen is joining the Board of Governors. Anthony has been appointed by the BC Real Estate Association.

“Anthony brings a wealth of organized real estate experience and a commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion to the Board of Governors,” said Mark Gifford, CEO of REFBC. “We’re happy to welcome Anthony to REFBC as we work to support sustainable, equitable, and socially just relationships with lands and waters.”

Anthony works as a Realtor and managing broker based in West Kelowna. He grew up in Kelowna and spent time in Winnipeg and the Lower Mainland before returning to the Okanagan. He has raised his family in West Kelowna for the past 25 years.

Anthony has volunteered in the organized real estate space since 2014, serving as President of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board in 2016, Chair of the BC Real Estate Association in 2020, and a current member of the Governance and Bylaws Committee for the Canadian Real Estate Association. He is active in his local community as Chair of the City of West Kelowna’s Advisory Planning Commission and Treasurer of the West Kelowna Yacht Club.

Since becoming aware of his family’s Métis heritage, Anthony has been proudly learning about his family’s history and is working to gain a better understanding of Métis and Indigenous peoples in Canada. Anthony is excited and honoured to work with REFBC and its dedicated Governors and Staff in advancing the mission and vision of the organization.
