The Real Estate Foundation of BC is delighted to welcome Jen McCaffrey (back!) to our team.
As a Grants Program Manager, Jen will support non-profit organizations by reviewing and giving feedback on grant applications, suggesting partnerships and next steps, and making funding recommendations to REFBC’s Board of Governors.
Jen is a patient listener with a passion for learning. In her career, she’s worked from all sides of the philanthropy table: as a fundraiser, a grantmaker, and a sustainability analyst.
She’s also no stranger to the land use community. Between 2007 and 2012, Jen served as a Grants Manager at the Real Estate Foundation of BC and returns with experience from the Vancity Community Foundation and Family Services of Greater Vancouver. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Certificate in Sustainable Development, both from Simon Fraser University.
When asked why she’s excited to return to REFBC, she says, “the mission and mandate of this organization really fit my values and preferred approach to creating change. REFBC embraces slow change which, when you need to bring a whole population along with you, can have a longer-lasting impact.”
In the coming months, Jen is committed to learning from non-profits, Indigenous knowledge holders, and local governments. She’s also keen to engage with our partners in the real estate sector to find ways of working together to strengthen communities and protect our land and water for future generations.
Outside of office hours, Jen enjoys baking (anything with chocolate), hiking, and spending time with her family and dog.
