Building Capacity for Indigenous-led Forest Conservation — To support Indigenous-led visions for land use and objectives for forest conservation through an online toolkit, technical support, and strategic analysis.

Strategic Kekuli Mapping and Carbon Dating — To identify and catalogue kekuli (pithouse) sites to preserve Secwépemc heritage, assert Indigenous rights and title, and support land stewardship.

Moving CleanBC Forward Through Equity and Accountability — To develop a roadmap for scaling up deep retrofits of affordable housing and to advance equitable access to renewable energy for remote and Indigenous communities.

Peace and Unity Summit — To bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together to build relationships, share knowledge, and work together to improve collective stewardship of the Upper Skeena watershed.

Indigenous Food Sovereignty Networking and Capacity Building — To establish an Indigenous Food Sovereignty Network to support capacity building, collaboration, education, and funding for food sovereignty projects in Indigenous communities.

Evaluating the IPCA Planning Certificate and Ensuring Its Long-Term Success — To redesign the world’s first postsecondary program specializing in planning for Indigenous protected and conserved areas to strengthen its impact, in partnership with Vancouver Island University.

Great Caribou Rainforest Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area — To establish the Great Caribou Rainforest Alliance in partnership with the Canim Lake Band (Tsq’escenemc), Simpcw First Nation, Williams Lake First Nation (T’exelcemc), and Xatśūll First Nation, and support planning and implementation of an Indigenous protected and conserved area.

Bringing Fire Back to the Land: Building Resilience Through Carbon Financing — To explore the potential use of carbon credits to finance Yuneŝit’in fire stewardship activities, which mitigate wildfire risk and are an expression of Tŝilhqot’in sovereignty, title, and culture.

Indigenous Digital Equity Strategy: Movement Building — To engage First Nations communities in the development of the Indigenous Digital Equity Strategy, which will offer a vision for Indigenous ownership, creation, and usage of digital technologies with respect for Indigenous rights and worldviews.

Climate Solutions Through Food Systems: Elevating Indigenous Agriculture and Food — To build relationships with Indigenous farmers, ranchers, and food sovereignty leaders, develop resources, create mentorship opportunities, and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Building Operations Led by Tenants in SROs — To scale up BOLTS, a peer-led repair and maintenance program for tenants of single room occupancy buildings, to help maintain safe and affordable housing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Climate Leaders Implementation Network: Relationship-Based Collaboration — To build stronger regional networks of local government staff and elected officials dedicated to climate action, and to help local governments and First Nations build relationships and explore possibilities for collaboration.

We Are One: Building a Greener, Cleaner Future With Indigenous Youth — To offer high-performance building workshops to Indigenous youth, in partnership with the Aboriginal Housing Management Association, through the Cheakamus Centre.

Transforming Energy Use in the Non-Profit Housing Sector — To support reducing the energy consumption and environmental impact of non-profit housing through the development of a building life-cycle assessment tool, a municipal education program, and other resources.

To advance the prioritization of biodiversity and Indigenous cultural values in BC forest management through policy reform.

To support the Kwakwa̱ka̱’wakw Revitalization Project in hosting summer camps for Kwakwa̱ka̱’wakw youth to learn from Elders, strength connections to the land, and gain construction skills and experience.

To develop interactive tools to help ensure land-use decision-making is informed by Wet’suwet’en rights, title, and traditional knowledge.

To support the Katzie First Nation (q̓ic̓əy̓) in leading watershed governance, undertaking salmon ecosystem monitoring and restoration, and analyzing carbon sequestration along the Upper Pitt River (sq̓ə́yc̓əyaʔɬ státləw).

To support the Lower Fraser Floodplains Coalition, promote nature-based and fish-friendly flood infrastructure to local governments, host public education events, and collaborate with First Nations on water stewardship.

To conduct collaborative nen (land) planning processes in six communities and at the Tŝilhqot’in Nation level, provide skills training for nen planners, and strengthen Tŝilhqot’in governance throughout the territory.

To create a map of legal principles based on community engagement and research, hold land-based learning sessions, and revitalize the laws of the Taku River Tlingit First Nation.

To bring Indigenous knowledge and Western perspectives into dialogue about the climate emergency through performing arts collaborations, including work with the Downtown Eastside Heart of the City Festival.

To establish a hydroponic container farm to grow traditional and non-traditional foods year-round and promote food security in a remote community.

To develop a land and water use plan, design a guardian program, and ultimately establish an Indigenous protected and conserved area in the Stein-Nahatlatch region.

To research the ecological impacts of wildfires and document traditional knowledge to inform land management and sustain access to culturally significant plant foods in a changing climate.

To support the Quw’utsun’ Cultural Connections Society in taking steps toward to the establishment of an Indigenous-led land trust, as well as in engaging schools and the public on the importance of protecting and restoring xpey’ (cedar) forests.

To conduct research and build capacity for conservation finance mechanisms that will support the Stein-Nahatlatch Indigenous protected and conserved area and local economic development.

For Chiefs, Elders, and knowledge keepers to teach Haida youth about traditional food harvesting and values on the land and sea.

To establish a Secwépemc seed collection program to preserve culturally significant plants for future generations, support watershed restoration, help species at risk recover, and enhance climate resilience.

To host a workshop providing Indigenous people in and around the Fraser Valley an opportunity to learn about the real estate industry and the process of becoming a realtor, and network with professionals.
