REFBC Board Approves Grants for Real Estate Education

The Real Estate Foundation of BC Board of Governors has approved $117,750 in grants for projects led by non-profits serving the real estate community.

This funding, provided through REFBC’s Real Estate Industry Grants stream, will support four research and education projects that help real estate professionals serve the public.

The BC Real Estate Association will launch an improved and updated anti-money laundering education program for real estate professionals. The program will include case studies, videos, and content tailored for brokerages of different sizes and geographic locations, as well as a one-day online conference. ($50,000)

The BC Real Estate Association will work with local real estate boards to understand the core competencies needed for people entering the real estate profession, identify gaps in education and regulations, and explore solutions to support new Realtors in serving the public. ($47,500)

BC Northern Real Estate Board will subsidize instructors’ travel and accommodation costs in order to support access to professional development courses for Realtors in rural and remote areas. ($5,350)

The Real Estate Institute of BC will plan and host a series of webinars and workshops on topics related to real estate, with a focus on economic change, emerging trends, and inclusivity and reconciliation. ($14,900)
