Welcome, Stephen! Congratulations, Stephanie!
The Real Estate Foundation of BC is excited to welcome Stephen Hui to our staff team. As Communications Manager, Stephen will lead the Foundation’s communications efforts and support our work to advance sustainable land use and real estate practices across BC.
Stephen is passionate about the environment, sustainable communities, and equity. Most recently, he worked as a Senior Communications Lead at the Pembina Institute, a clean energy think-tank and REFBC grantee. Stephen previously spent several years as an editor at the Georgia Straight, writing about an array of environmental and social issues.
“I’m thrilled to join the energetic team at the Real Estate Foundation of BC, and to have the opportunity to support sustainable land use in BC,” Stephen said. “I’m looking forward to helping get the word out about our granting programs and their impact as well as sharing stories of success from around BC.”
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, where he majored in geography. He’s also the author of two hiking guidebooks, including Destination Hikes In and Around Southwestern British Columbia.
At REFBC, we’re also celebrating Stephanie Butler, who is shifting to a new role as Communications Manager with the Healthy Watersheds Initiative.
HWI is a $27-million provincial grant program that’s administered by REFBC in collaboration with Watersheds BC. In her role, Stephanie will collect and share stories on community-led watershed restoration efforts across BC.
