Welcome to Our Grants Team!
We are thrilled to welcome Deanna Wing, Josie Iaci, and Meghan Ray to our team to support our growing grants program.
Deanna Wing is our new Grants Program Manager. Deanna brings her experience supporting community-led solutions and collaboration as the Program and Grants Manager at Central City Foundation. Her past work also includes supporting sustainable practices and member services in the cooperative sector.
“I am looking forward to extending my experience from supporting community-led solutions in Vancouver’s inner city, to learn from the REFBC team, and support the work to build reciprocal relationships with community to support land use initiatives that are furthering the advancement of UNDRIP,” said Deanna.
Deanna is passionate about learning alongside community partners and building strong connections through listening, listening, and listening some more! Deanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters in Adult Education from the University of BC.
“I am honoured to have this opportunity to join such a dynamic organization and amazing team that shares an intersectional, decolonizing and community-led approach to their work.”
In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her family and two dogs and getting out on the water on her paddleboard.
Josie Iaci joins our team as the new Grants Coordinator. Josie will support the grants team with administration and coordination, along with task and process planning, management, and delivery. She holds a BCom from UBC Sauder School of Business.
Before joining the Foundation, Josie worked as a Land Referrals Officer for Kwantlen First Nation under the Kwantlen Lands, Resources and Stewardship Department.
“As a proud member of Kwantlen First Nation, I look forward to joining REFBC in working in partnership with First Nations and supporting Indigenous-led, land-based projects in what is referred to as British Columbia,” said Josie.
When not in the office, Josie enjoys running, hiking, yoga, and listening to live music.
Meghan Ray is our new Grants System Manager. Meghan will oversee the operations of the REFBC’s database systems, ensuring they are running smoothly by providing technical support to the grants and special programs teams.
This role takes a dedicated focus on building, managing, and improving the grantmaking and programmatic systems of the Foundation.
Meghan has a Bachelor of Environment in Global Environmental Systems and a certificate in Geographic Information Science from Simon Fraser University.
“I am excited to be part of such an enthusiastic team that is supporting so much impactful work. Also, as a huge data nerd, I am thrilled to have an opportunity to improve and expand our data processes and reporting,” said Meghan.
Outside of work, Meghan enjoys scuba diving, travelling, and hiking.
Welcome Deanna, Josie, and Meghan to the REFBC team!
